Little Farms

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographer: Tay Ting Li
Little Farms is a premium grocer in Singapore selling all-natural fresh produce of the highest quality. With the launch of their latest ready-to-eat meals, our food photographers were engaged to capture a series of product and mood shots to be used as communication collaterals.
In line with the theme of natural produce, we used bright lighting, and soft linens to visually connect the dishes. As much as ready-to-eat meals have a negative connotation of being ultra-processed, we wanted to showcase the wholesomeness of Little Farmβs version by using elements of fresh ingredients as part of the food styling.

Chinese festivities are a time of reunions, laden with sumptuous feasts, sweet treats, and festive gaiety. To year, we were engaged by Goodwood Park Hotel for our food photography services, capturing the full spread of their Lunar New Year Offerings and Midautumn Festival mooncakes.
To evoke the jubilant spirit with the coming of spring, we chose a bright colour palette of warm yellow, orange, and red, to represent auspiciousness. We also incorporated green as a secondary colour, representing fortune, and providing contrast that complemented the overall colour scheme. Finally, we used iconic Chinese props, serveware, cloths, and plates, to tie in a sense of tradition, and symbolising Goodwood Parkβs heritage.
As for the Midautumn Festival, we were tasked to capture a range of traditional baked and snowskin mooncakes. We used predominantly warm colours for the backdrops, playing with lights and plants to create whimsical shadows. The only photo with a different treatment is the durian snowskin mooncakes. With a green backdrop and darker toners, it stands out as the hotelβs all-time speciality.

The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is a government agency that actively advocates healthy living with property nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being, and more.
As part of HPBβs efforts to reduce Singaporeansβ salt intake by 15%, a national campaign was launched to promote lower sodium alternatives such as K-salt, and low sodium soy sauce.
We were engaged by HPB for our food photography and food styling services to produce photos and cinemagraphs for the campaign. We were tasked to style a series of local dishes in a home setting to inspire home cooks to try out these recipes. The goal was to showcase the vibrancy of these dishes to elicit bold flavours even with a reduction in salt. We opted for bright photography and colourful ingredients, playing with herbs and spices in the foreground to add dynamism to the image.
The visuals were featured on Health Hubβs website as part of their recipe series, and OOH advertising at train stations.

Founded in 1999 in the U.S., Eclipse provides a range of breath-freshening mint products. In anticipation of their new Herbal Mint range for the Asian market, we were commissioned to shoot the key visual to be used on their website and advertising collaterals.
We wanted to showcase the ingredients for each flavour, but we faced a challenge regarding their large size relative to the Eclipse candy box. As a solution, we shot each element separately on a plain background and stitched them together in post editing. We also customised and 3D-printed stands based on the dimensions of the Eclipse boxes. We chose a neutral beige as the base, painting the boxes to match perfectly, and a brighter shade of yellow to complement the colour palette of the product packaging.

In line with KFC x Transformers Rise of the Beasts, we were engaged for our professional food photography services. The campaign featured two of KFCβs most popular burgers: The Original and the Zinger Burger.
The image was captured from a first personβs perspective with hands in frame, resembling the viewpoint of the diner when eating a burger to evoke a sense of hunger. Every element of the burger was styled to perfection, from selecting the buns with an optimal amount of sesame seeds, the right amount of mayonnaise, fresh green lettuce, and crsipy fried chicken, and elements in the foreground. To complement KFCβs signature red logo, we handpainted the backdrop so create visual texture instead of a flat paper backdrop which would come across as flat.

We were engaged by Meadesmoore for our professional food photography services to capture the interior and mood shots of their menuβthick-cut juicy steaks grilled to perfection, paired with a myriad of delectable sides. All the photos were shot on-site at their restaurant and were used for their in-house menu, PR, and social media content.

Located in Robertson Quay, the U.S. Center for Dairy Excellence (U.S. CDE) is the first of its kind established outside of the United States of America. Designed as a learning destination and ideation hub, it focuses on promoting dairy products and cementing its relationship with Southeast Asian business partners.
The brief was straightforward β shooting breakfast favourites and well-loved regional dishes with dairy products as the highlight. We curated a wide variety of dishes β appetizers, mains, desserts, and beverages. Each shot places the main dish front and centre, with embellishments of accompanying ingredients. Heritage dishes were given a warmer treatment and vintage props to evoke the aesthetics of yesteryears. In contrast, modern dishes and breakfast sets were given a cooler and brighter treatment, but with similar ingredient styling for a cohesive look and feel.

Hailing from Italy, Bertazzoni is a company that specializes in high-quality cooking appliances since 1882. It is renowned for products that combine considered design, outstanding engineering, and a deep passion for food.
As our appliance partner for ATO Studio, we were engaged for our food photography and videography services to capture the classic Bertazzoni oven based on three persona stories: Refined tastes from the artisan, simple pleasures from the home baker, and culinary feasts from the professional chef. At the heart of it, we wanted to emphasise the main message of how Bertazzoniβs appliance enable the preparation of food with flair, precision, and across a various range of styles.

Chinese festivals are steeped in history, with heavy significance in every dish. This year, we were engaged by Yan Ting, the signature Chinese restaurant of The St. Regis Singapore, to shoot for the Dragonboat and Midautumn Festival.
The Dragonboat festival is always a drool-worthy affair with its traditional rice dumplings. Crafted by hand with the crème de la crème of ingredients such as truffles, abalone, and golden-dried scallops, we wanted to showcase the opulence of each rice dumpling. To do so, we shot the dumplings on a gold background with a central focal point and minimal styling of related ingredients. We also used digital imaging to enhance the glossy effect of the dumplings, complete with a subtle halo and a muted reflection.
On the other hand, mooncakes take the centre stage every Midatutumn festival. To give a breath of fresh modernity and an air of sophistication, we opted for a simple set design with pastel backgrounds. Gold props created imbued a sense of elegance, while fluted glass created visual texture for a contemporary feel. Using digital imaging, we incorporated dainty blooms to evoke an oriental style

Hainanese Chicken Rice is a Singaporean staple, and we were stoked when Sing Swee Kee approached us for our food photography and food styling services.
Founded in 2001, Sing Swee Kee is one of the rare establishments to keep the notion of old school Chicken Rice Balls alive. Inspired by their fiery orange chilli sauce, we used an orange backdrop and warm colour tones to add vibrancy to the otherwise neutral palette of simple, yet tasty plates of Chicken Rice. In contrast, the spicy noodle bowls were shot on a light grey backdrop, accentuating the vibrant reds of the various chillis and fresh ingredients.
